DescriptionSay the title a few times fast and you will know what was being implied when this was named Overdue In It. That is exactly what DJ VoiceCrack has been doing in 2009. Releasing two full length albums basically carrying (yes we said it) the label while E Luv focuses on other projects; shattering the 200 track-produced mark; and all-around solidifying his place in the realm of composition/production mastery with creativity, individuality, longevity, and loyalty has earned the Keyboard Master the end of the year EP slot. That name also serves a separate meaning as well, as these tracks really are overdue in being released. The first three tracks, here, along with the track Title Shot from The Mac-X Crew: ILLegalities album were all originally meant to be a part of a four track EP entitled HTML. As history would have it, HTML was an individual from the east coast that thought he could go against the Mac-X Crew in one form or another - rap, basketball, fistplay, etc. But in the end, fellow Mac-X Crew member, Earl Solow, was credited with ending HTML's career, so ILLegalities was ultimately released in the form it exists today, and the three beatz here were no longer necessary - never released as tracks. The last two beatz were originally supposed to be used as remixes of two tracks of the same name from the album, E Luv: aXice of evILL. For Redemption (Radio Edit), the song contains a sample from the composition 'Escape from Rura Penthe' off of the Star Trek VI - The Undiscovered Country (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack), so it was decided that it was something best performed in private and never released. It also contains an interpolation of the legendary 'Who Wants Some O' Dis? (Lethal 4 Real, FTM 180 RemiX)' melody. If you have heard the original version of Redemption and know anything about the Who Wants Some O' Dis? tracks, then you know that this was meant to be a very serious remix.... Gangsta Grab RemiX, on the other hand, had a different beatz per minute than the original version, so although E Luv and GMNT and DJ VoiceCrack have managed to perform this in the studio, messing around, the finalized version was never cut let alone released. With so many other projects demanding attention, that happens from time-to-time with music. Each of these gems has a history, and the moment might be gone, but these beatz are surely not forgotten. No less treacherous, even DJ VoiceCrack's scraps that fall off of the table make the floors thump.
