Separation from the main section of the webpage was the decision because much of this
material does not even come close to the level of where Def Mute Records is at now
with regards to lyrical depth, production value, and all-around quality. But these
selections were amazing in their own rite. The equipment used to record these albums,
the amount of material recorded under these conditions, and the type of material is just
absolutely startling. It was this material that took Def Mute Records from local to
regional before the material from the main section took the label from regional to
national.
Underground
A push exists to digitize all of the classic albums and upload them before they are lost
because Def Mute Records does not want to have anything go 'out of print' if they can
help it. Luckily, digitized versions and backups of all of the old albums exist, and
the reality of their critical re-release has become a great likelihood.
